Pros

Wheels Up is at the nexus of 3 really cool industries: tech, aviation and luxury. I've been working at Wheels Up close to a year now and I can confidently say that this company is a jewel!! From day one, I have been amazed by the innovative work culture, cutting-edge technologies, and the exceptional talent that makes this company stand out in the airline industry. If you're an ambitious, go-getter type, there is more growth opportunities than one could possibly imagine. Managers are more like mentors and really take a keen interest in your professional development. Like I said, I've been here close to a year and it feels like I've been here for 5 and that's a testament to the culture at Wheels Up.

Cons

Honestly, there are none. We work hard, but that comes with the territory of working at an industry changing company.

Pros

Surprised to see such scathing reviews about Wheels Up complaining about low pay, "lack of coding standards" and having to go through one person- that wasn't my experience at all. I was here from 2021 to 2023. While it's true there was a "test later" culture- many of the microservices were lacking unit test coverage leading to lots of hotfixes- there were a lot of good things about this company. Friendly and technically competent mid-level managers, good pay, clean codebase and enough headcount (before the layoffs at least). The culture was the best I've seen at any company: friendly and supportive while avoiding being "too friendly". Too bad the company's financials didn't work out and it looks like it's headed into bankruptcy.

Cons

The lack of unit test coverage was real. There were three or four key technical experts in the company and contention for their time was high which was a huge bottleneck for the rest of the developers.
