Very white, racial politics of the 1950s, faculty quite elitist, pampered students, ingrown quality to social environment.

Nice benefits, very flexible time off, employee appreciation days with catered breakfast, nice and dedicated people who really cared about the work

Cons

Not always kept in the loop with the decisions the college was making. Some of the work seemed meaningless or I couldn't see why we were doing it

Pros

Faculty and staff have access to a state-of-the-art gym and awesome library services, generally reaping the benefits of being on a thriving collegiate campus. Walla Walla is small enough that people know one another but big enough to boast a booming wine industry, charming downtown, and a number of live music events.

Cons

Walla Walla does not have a mall, and it's not a town for people who want a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Sometimes transparency is an issue and offices on campus work at different speeds. Whitman is currently struggling to re-arrange its policies so that they reflect the values of the student body (sustainability, economic diversity, etc.) While many members of the staff are working hard, some may say that change is long overdue and isn't coming fast enough.
