Awesome department, but bad feeling about HR

Pros

-Given responsibilities and opportunity to grow unlike any other company I've worked for -Opportunity for self-betterment -Volunteering opportunities -Everyone is extremely friendly -Laidback -Family type feeling in certain departments

Cons

I'm pretty sure favoritism played a huge part and I got the short end of the stick. I worked hard and I saw my coworkers work their behinds off, but there wasn't enough credit to be shared it seemed. Also my HR representative always "joked around" with me, but I felt personally harassed and that she talked behind my back to turn others around me. HR was my only real bad experience, but I personally loved my job in itself. (I still think about it to this day, I'm a rather friendly person and keep out of office politics, and I've never figured out why she was so rude and unprofessional to me)

Great Company

Pros

Williams is a great company to work for. The culture is great, work life balance is good, bonus’ are good and the people make working here fun! Williams is a great milestone company. There are employees here that have been here for years and are retiring, but if you are young and ambitious, I encourage you to work here for a couple of years and move on to something new.

Cons

There is noticeably favoritism in management. If you are not liked by certain people in management you will know and feel it. The opportunities here are not equal opportunity, it’s based on who likes you. Williams promotes hiring from within, but I found that to be untrue. The policy is work 4 days in office, 1 day at home for remote work. Management takes advantage of the opportunity to work from home, but will enforce the 4 day work in office policy with the team.

Racism is Prevalent, Allowed, and Rewarded

Pros

Pay and benefits are not bad. There are workers and the non-workers.

Cons

Racism is prevalent, allowed, and rewarded. That IS the culture. Racism is rooted in the DNA of the executive team, especially the CEO. He is the very definition of "good ole' boy." Leadership like their people of color compliant, quiet, and happy to be there. To quote, a member of the executive team, he likes 'MLK because he was quiet...'
