Pros

Williams is a great company to work for. The culture is great, work life balance is good, bonus’ are good and the people make working here fun! Williams is a great milestone company. There are employees here that have been here for years and are retiring, but if you are young and ambitious, I encourage you to work here for a couple of years and move on to something new.

Cons

There is noticeably favoritism in management. If you are not liked by certain people in management you will know and feel it. The opportunities here are not equal opportunity, it’s based on who likes you. Williams promotes hiring from within, but I found that to be untrue. The policy is work 4 days in office, 1 day at home for remote work. Management takes advantage of the opportunity to work from home, but will enforce the 4 day work in office policy with the team.

Pros

I appreciate a lot of things about Williams. -The pace (at least on the transmission side) is slower than the upstream and therefore the work life balance is nice. -Really awesome teammates/great personalities - I haven't met someone here yet that I didn't like working with or working for. -I think the pay is very fair for that balance as well. -Williams tries very hard to hire diversely which is a plus. -If you just want to show up to work, do a good job, and leave work at home, this is the case here.

Cons

-The annual review process makes it difficult to stand out. If you are a 'super star' employee and want the recognition and accolades for that, its difficult to achieve that. But if you are just average, you don't have anything to fear here. Unfortunately poor performers can hide in the masses - which can be a problem for the hard working individuals having to pick up the slack. -No sick pay - vacation and sick are the same and therefore people show up to work sick because they don't want to use their vacation. Definitely negotiate for more vacation coming in if you can.
