Pros

I'm sure they're fine, but they didn't keep their word long enough to integrate my department before laying us all off.

Cons

Promised a minimum 12-month job security period, laid off as redundant/downsizing after 2 months. Aggressively purchasing other companies then firing their employees

Pros

Great company to build experience. Encouraged to shift within the company and opportunities to grow and advance initially. O&G will always outpace other industries (Manufacturing, Construction, Aerospace). Benefits and PTO was on par and overall atmosphere is not competitive within O&G. Williams has found a way to carve out a relatively stable segment of an otherwise volatile industry.

Cons

Long Term (5+ years) opportunities are limited and the talent pool is very crowded. This translates to employees being qualified, but there are a long line of employees with double the experience applying for the same roles. Pay is low for O&G compared to competitors for employees that grow in the company. Many leave and come back as Williams will 'match' competitive pay, but not keep pace as years go on.
