Residents could be difficult but were also treated poorly at times. Ineptitude rewarded. No focus on team environment. Feckless management. Failure to confront inter-office disrespect and sabotage. Prioritize personal comfort over doing what is best for the whole. Constant misdirection, leaving employees unsure of how to proceed -- it's difficult to do things right when the rules/directives are constantly changing or in conflict. Too many platitudes to cover lack of leadership. Over time, these cons eviscerated motivation and led to burnout. Local work environment/coworkers were the biggest impediment to success but corporate was too far removed to know (or care?). Local communication was pitifully lacking, despite repeated requests for a better structure. Long time employee knowingly allowed to routinely ransack vacated apartments to sell for personal gain, and given exclusive right to do so, while also maintaining the ear of manager to manipulate perceptions of other staff, causing morale to plummet. All in all, the local environment and the lack of position support from corporate led to an untenable position.
