Pros

The families, kids and co workers are wonderful. Even the team leads are fantastic and all of these create a pretty positive work environment

Cons

HR is very disorganized with scheduling and cancellations. Its a rotating door with employees because they do not pay enough for the work put in. When families cancel, there is no reimbursement and they treat "guarenteed hours" like it is something you have to earn instead of treating their employees like humans who have bills to pay. This does not make for stable income - I would never make this a full time job because the cancellations and hours are too spotty. Ex. I just drove to work today and there was a scheduling error. The family showed up to pick up the child early and I was sent home after 15 minutes. I was not reimbursed travel time for this and lost a decent amount of hours and pay because of it.

Pros

Some of the most amazing clinicians I have ever worked with, I met and learned from at WEAP. I was proud to be able to service children on Medicaid, who were often turned away from other companies due to their insurance.

Cons

As one co-worker said, "WEAP has become like a dysfunctional relationship that despite feeling like you're constantly being taken advantage of, you feel obligated to stay and are guilted into being loyal." I can say it is such freedom to work for a company now whose main focus is implementing the individual recommendations for client. There is support, training and positive reinforcement at every level (i.e. everything WEAP lacked). It feels wonderful to be free of this toxic environment.

Pros

Kids are great, opportunities for advancement

Cons

They need a stricter criteria for hiring and training employees- it's very difficult to operate on teams that don't have consistency due to lazy or undertrained staff
