Pros

Quite frankly, there aren't many pros any longer. I was fortunate in having good co-workers, and supervisors over the years. The work environment was clean.

Cons

After Cree bought Ruud Lighting, things started to go downhill. They started to bring in way too many temps., throwing them onto assembly lines, where nobody could be bothered to teach them what to do. They didn't care that people had families and lives. Over time, people got fed up, and quit in disgust.

Pros

Lots of complex, challenging problems to solve in a fast-paced environment. Talented and professional Engineering staff.

Cons

Chaotic; Zero work-life balance. Some managers with complete lack of people and business management skills. Bullying, intimidation, and transferring blame are common tactics to cover these shortcomings. Extremely short term (1 week forward) focus- entire teams are frequently diverted to chase one task/issue, leading to a constant panic and recovery mode which is unsustainable in the long term. Projects and initiatives to improve are started but never followed through. Heavy turnover due to the above leaves many covering 2-3 jobs and operating in survival mode rather than producing excellence.

Pros

The gym is great and was recently fitted with brighter lights. There's a cafeteria on site. Emerging technology that is getting more exposure.

Cons

There is no work life balance. If you're on shift work, it's near impossible to enjoy the gym despite all the health and wellness initiatives they've recently been promoting. The cafeteria is overpriced and under portioned. They managed to figure out a legal way to screw hourly employees out of 4 hours of OT every pay period. The pay period is still Sunday to the next Saturday, but they count your hours based on a Wednesday split. I had a paycheck with 95 hours of my regular rate and 5 hours of OT on it because of this absurdity.
