Pros

Good people work there, good vacation program, plenty of parking with good lighting, potential future if we get a new CEO.

Cons

CEO is the key person behind the recent $85M restructureing charge that went out on June 24th. If you research his record, you will find that under the CEO's tenure, there has not been any growth in market capitalization of the company in his 14 years. CEO authorized $200M in new fab that was not needed despite feedback from some staff members that there was no shortage of product that justified a new fab. The company is organizationally backwards and managers lack clear ownership of problems. Too many people can say no to a project and almost no one can say yes. No real IT infrastructure and systems to manage the size of the business. The company has a history of burning through people. An example was that in 2014, they put the fab workers on double mandatory overtime and didn't bother to think about their lives. EVP management has been a revolving door with everyone except the CEO. Think before you interview.

Pros

- Comp and benefits were great for an entry level position - Casual work environment (no dress code, refer to managers by their first name) - A lot to learn on the job

Cons

The schedule I was on was a complete nightmare. Had to work 2PM - 12AM on Tuesday - Saturday, which means I had no social life whatsoever. That's also a minimum of 50 hours per week, but I rarely got out on time, so it was closer to 60 hours. There is no room to move up the ladder unless you brown nose your superiors and ignore everything but your job. Don't get suckered in by the benefits package unless you're willing to trade your work/life balance.

Pros

There can be great coworkers and mentors if you seek them out. Benefits are decent, and its great experience if you want to grow your career in solid state or manufacturing in general.

Cons

The company is always looking to cut costs. They will lay off temporary employees, put of purchasing raw materials needed for production until the next quarter, they even reduced the quality and options for coffee. We have had last minute shut downs in which employees were expected to use their accrued vacation or go unpaid. If you are out in the fab, you will work night shift. And you will realize night shift employees are valued even less than the day shift slaves. Management drives employees by fear. If you click on from break one minute later, you are punished. Zero career development or advancement. And finally, pay is significantly below average for industry and area.
