Pros

Opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the LED industry. Good benefits Good location

Cons

No work-life balance. 12-14 hour days and weekend work are the norm and people that cannot/do not do that either go on "probation" or end up getting fired. Performance review process is a joke. Promotions are based on the amount of time spent in the office as opposed to actual performance on the job. Engineers are treated like robots and given no respect (I have personally encountered managers yelling on top of their voice at engineers numerous times) Cut throat management politics

Pros

Technician. I used to earned close to 70000 a year at Cree my last employer, very good company in Durham NC with good benefits. Above all, I had a good and good co-workers. I will recommend anyone with engineering degree to work there.

Cons

The OT sometimes were out of control, 36hrs on top of the 80hrs/biweekly, especially when you work on night, there is not sense of life.

Pros

Good operators and technicians. Consistent Schedule. Decent Medical benefits Possible Stock plans and bonus (maybe). Get on with Wolfspeed - Cree's Power and RF Section.

Cons

Managers and engineers are disconnected from workers. Shift schedule (3-2-2-3 or 4-3-3-4) is hard on family life. Company had the best revenues in it's recent history (5-10yrs), but were overspending. Bonus program is a joke, most quarterly bonus's were missed, and yearly bonus was about $300. Company moto (Cree is WE) is far from the truth. The "WE" is senior management is the only thing that matters. No possibility for advancement if your an operator or technician. They like to hire from outside the company as much as possible now.
