Pros

Flexible PTO/HPTO & able to go in the hole/sale back unused time. Cost of benefits, three levels in cost/type. Paid from the start of shift to the end of shift (12 hours).

Cons

Depending on the job - 8 to 12-hour shifts. Depending on the job - 2/2/3 rotation M-Sun, 3/4 rotation M-Sun, or 8-hour shift M-F. Time off system looks for patterns (which is good), however, does not take into account taking care of elderly parents/unexpected EMR's for parents. Night shifts do not have options for meals as the day shift does. Some departments are hostile / encourage bullying.

Pros

Cree Cafe' on site for Breakfast, lunch and catering, creative chef and supporting staff.

Cons

Morass of unethical managers void of any leadership skills who content themselves with supporting their own self-worth. Not interested in finding the truth, decisions are made by opinion and supported by rumors. Wafer Fab Managers demand loyalty, support and trust but are unwilling to reciprocate. Managers are competent at powerpoint and briefing numbers but remain oblivious to employee developmental needs. Manager invades personal space by inspecting subordinate’s cell phones and decrees who supervisors are permitted to communicate with. HR / Employee Relations teams cannot be trusted. They will commend you one week then the next week behind closed doors condemn those same actions. They have intentionally withheld investigative facts that purport the truth because the truth did not support opinions. Last exchange with HR I was told “you will do as HR recommends”. Not a collaborative environment but rather dictatorial. Sadly, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is either unable or unwilling to address the general lack of ethical leadership. They want to avoid uncomfortable questions or a dissenting view. Always keen on Glassdoor ratings, the SLT will present a rosy picture knowing full well that the bully mentality still exists within the Wafer Fab. To the SLT credit, they initiated Leadership training but six hours of classroom instruction does not develop leaders.

Pros

New management seems sincere in wanting to change the corporate culture

Cons

There are still a lot of old guard employees & managers that have become adept at creatively doing the same old things while paying lip service to the new culture initiatives.
