Pros

Cree is an exciting and fun place to work. LED manufacturing is a highly competitive industry which leads to frequent development cycles and a fast paced work environment. This can be very rewarding for highly motivated people. In this high tech company you learn new things every day and have many opportunities to solve new challenges. People at Cree are awesome. There is a strong teamwork environment throughout the organization. From production factory workers, engineers, to managers, Cree is a tight family. Folks are easy to work with and collaborate together to create new technologies on the RND side or improve the process and performance on the Process Engineering side. Cree likes to promote from within, so there are opportunities to go up in the organization or move around to other teams when needed.

Cons

Like any job in the semiconductor industry, many technical jobs at Cree are challenging and require a lot of dedication to your job. This is not unique to Cree, put difficult for some people. However most managers are good about respecting work life balance.

Pros

New CEO has quickly learned how bad Cree’s culture is and he is listening to the employees. This was never done under past leadership.

Cons

Waiting to see how long it will take new CEO to realize the worst offenders to Cree’s poor culture, now report to him directly. A zebra doesn’t change its stripes.

Pros

They have decent insurance thats it.

Cons

Over worked under paid compared to similar positions in the area. Terrible work life balance due to the end of every quarter u end up having generally 3 days off in the entire month and working fr 14 days straight the last week of the quarter into the first week of the next quarter then they end up giving you have a week off the week after that so all that extra money you got from the over time you have to save up or ull be broke from having half a week off work. Management at all levels minus one or 2 of them are incompetent and willing to fire people for literally anything even if you weren't involved in the situation if you have worked there for any legnth of time be worried for your job because Cree doesn't want to pay you all those raises you've earned over the years and will find any excuse to let you go.
