Pros

Good money, great location, great benefits if you are single. Talent is high and great to work with. Lots you can learn

Cons

The place is is just too lean and getting leaner. More thought over stock price than quality or employee satisfaction. Note, HR is not there for you! Zero training, be ready to be dropped on the deep side of the pool and expect to swim if you want to cut it.

Pros

Medical benefits and the ability to buy extra vacation time

Cons

For a company that is hellbent on shoving it’s “values” down its members throats, this place is a perfect example of everything wrong within a company when there is piss-poor “management” at the helm. There is a complete lack of interdepartmental cohesion resulting in management constantly fighting amongst themselves & no ability to resolve recurring issues. There is also no direction or firm business strategy as a company resulting in almost every day feeling like pandemonium. Upper management leads by intimidation when anyone actually tries to improve anything within the company, resulting in the person then being made out to be the problem. There is also poor pay relative to the high level experience & work output required. The HR department is a complete joke with its cliquey mentality and has no idea about company policies. Not to forget the rampant weaponized incompetence amongst the operations teams. All around poor work culture and is a sinking ship.

Pros

Nice people, Colorado is beautiful.

Cons

Pay, vacation, work, and leadership. Pay: The pay for an engineer is low and doesn’t get better with time as all the veteran employees complained about pay. Bonus target is a marketing tactic only. Vacation: They let you “buy back vacation days” read “unpaid time off”. Vacation days do not rollover. They are cutting benefits quickly, people that started 6 months before me had better vacation benefits. Work: The projects were a mix between data entry and copy-paste from the last project. There was not a lot of work to do. No progression or succession plans and 90% of the workforce is 0-7 years from retirement. Leadership: "Woodward announces $800 million stock buyback and won't be able pay your bonuses this year". Sorry, but there are only 7,200 employees and that stock buyback represents over $100,000 per employee - you really can't afford to pay a bonus to the working class employees? Woodward is stuck in the 1980's corporate raider mentality of "cut employee benefits and pay to increase share price which ultimately enriches the CEO, board of directors, and shareholders." Is this the best Woodward's management could come up with on how to invest extra capital?
