Pros

Maybe the travel, but managers regularly make you move planned and paid for vacations to accommodate business travel. The company does wellness programs and social activities during the summer and winter.

Cons

Jut about everything. This company isn't interested in new ideas or creativity. If you ever have to take medical leave forget about ever having work when you come back or the respect of co- workers.

Not everything is perfect

Pros

Most staff is friendly. Flexible with hours. Dress code is relaxed but professional. President is realistic and easy to speak with.

Cons

A lot of sexism in professional fields. Supervisors not on location do not have a realistic idea of what you work on. Definite favorites throughout the different markets. If you don't play well with others, you are treated like an outcast. Similar to high school 'it' crowds. Some unprofessional behaviors in some offices.

Woolpert has a zero-tolerance policy for any type of harassment or discrimination, including sexism. While this policy exists, Woolpert recognizes that policies alone can’t combat sexism in the workplace. Because of this, we strive to provide a culture in which employees are empowered to speak up regarding these and other issues, should they occur, so that swift and appropriate measures can be taken. With more than 20 offices across the nation, we stress the need for open lines of communication at a firmwide and team level. Woolpert provides employees with multiple communication resources, including phones, email, instant messaging and video conferencing systems, to ensure that supervisors and their employees can communicate easily despite differences in location. Leadership also makes deliberate efforts to train supervisors on remote management communication skills to help remedy this situation. We will continue to train remote management best practices.

Pros

Woolpert's leadership are engaged and approachable. The project portfolio is well rounded, diverse, and interesting. There are some very good employees, and have made several, what I expect to be, life long friends.

Cons

At times it can be challenging to introduce new technology and processes. It's also challenging to discern where the company is investing internally.

We intend to increase development opportunities and education through the roll out of a new program called Woolpert University. Woolpert University is designed to be the central hub for career development and training for all employees.
