Pros

-Competitive pay -Friendly Management -Relaxed Interview

Cons

-I never got the chance to work for this company. I interviewed for the GeoBase Software Developer position located on Langley AFB in Virginia. Everyone was really helpful and professional. My interview was conducted and went smoothly because I did not need to have any experience working with the applications they use. I received an offer the next day with a promise of a salary raise if I could get the CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 weeks of my start date. I accepted the offer and began the process of signing documents and speaking with the security manager to verify my clearance eligibility. This process took about 1-2 weeks. I was very excited as I had just completed my bachelor's degree in computer science and was looking forward to start work. Unfortunately, about 72 hours before my first day, I was contacted by the HR team and told that due to a change in qualifications and experience requirements for the position, they would have to rescind their offer to me. This was a shock because I had already declined offers from other potential employers for this position. The company seems great and the people seem great as well, I just wish I could have had the chance to work here.

Not The Firm It Used To Be

Pros

Some employees are hardworking and a pleasure to work with

Cons

Management is so focused on making money that they don’t even see employees as people or care about how they are treated. There is a big focus on acquiring additional firms instead of supporting existing staff to drive up the number of employees. As a result, key staff in high ranking positions that have been with the firm for 10+ years are leaving in droves. Management keeps pushing the Great Place To Work survey without actually taking steps to make it a great place to work. Many people are overworked, underpaid, and have had promises made to them that are never acted on (i.e., raises, bonuses, benefits). Job responsibilities are also in frequent flux, with little to no notice to employees or additional compensation for exceeding agreed scope. You could be hired to do one thing and required to do something completely different from what you agreed to.
