Great benefits but low growth opportunities (staff)

Pros

Great benefits like HSA and retirement contributions and many days off. Free access to the fitness center.

Cons

Very low salary compared to similar jobs elsewhere (but that's true across higher ed). Extremely minor (if any) raises compared to inflation and cost of living increases. Not many challenges or growth opportunities for exceptional employees; promotions are rare and external hires seem preferred when there are open jobs.

WPI will hire students to do part-time work. It is great experience and I have learned so much.

Cons

They pay students pretty much minimum wage (regardless of your technical level of work).
