Pros

Lots of free giveaway when product they have at the warehouse is close to expiring. They give them away to staff and get the money from their clients

Cons

Work in silos, operations vp is a bully and it’s like either his way or highway. Very hostile environment. Owners are just looking at the numbers, work place is mom and pop, try to save Money but end up spending more.

Pros

Free snacks Weds bagels Good coworkers mostly

Cons

Antiquated systems. The codebase is old and pretty much impossible to upgrade. Deployments are bottlenecked through a single person. The company keeps getting sued for compliance issues because changes are never deployed. Wages in all departments are way below industry standards. Marketing is treated like a commodity. They are expected to work long hours and keeping the partners happy is impossible because of the engineering issues above. Simple tasks like changing wording on the site takes weeks. Some engineering tasks are done half-assed. Code is pushed to production with placeholders like INSERT_CUSTOMER_ID in the code, or with IDs of the wrong partner in it. Engineers who make constant mistakes are allowed to keep making mistakes. Turnover is high. Especially in Customer service and marketing. Morale is very low. If you are looking for a customer service, marketing or engineering position from this company dont do it.

Pros

Employees are good people, expired snacks are offered to employees.

Cons

All employees except ownership and executives are severely overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. Expectations were to work 50-60 hours a week minimum at $15/hr for a customer service management position in 2015. In San Francisco. That is not a liveable wage. Also, there were no benefits offered and were only slowly being rolled out when I left. The idea was to hire young and hungry people and work them into ground until they burn out, and replace with another hungry young person. The positions were sold as “great experience on your resume,” not great jobs. Commuting to their office location took up to 6 hours total every day. Their infrastructure and ordering systems are intentionally cheap and difficult to use. The owner David actively pursued the Amazon model of being as cheap as possible while getting maximum effort out of the employees. They like to talk about their culture as a family, but treat them like livestock. When I put in my notice I was told by the co-founder Michael Casotti that “40 hour a week jobs that pay liveable wages don’t exist for a person like you.” They are pretending to be a 21st century tech company operating on 20th century tech and business practices. Could not in good conscience recommend this company to anyone, even those just looking for great experience. It is not great experience here, it is frustration and burnout.
