Pros

Christian organization filled with people who are genuine in their faith. They truly believe in the work and support for children, families and communities. I have grown faster professionally than I had in other jobs I had previously and have grown - to my surprise - in my Christian faith as well. I admire the leadership and their role in helping the organization evolve and advance into greater endeavors, especially on the marketing side. In a time when "competition" in the non-profit and even the international devleopment space is high, yet giving to international chartiies is low, the leaders understand what it takes to maintain growth. We're not perfect, we've made organizational mistakes in our process and operations, but we;re chaning and we're chaning fast - for the better. I' think one of the reasons I grew so fast professionaly is because we're constantly challenging our thinking and ways to improve our work and efficiencies. I work alongside some of the most trusted and responsible people I could ever ask for in a work environment.

Cons

These pros are not the same for everyone. We just went through a massive reorganization in order to undergo the change that were necessary for market adjustment and growth. It wasn't easy and like may companies or organizations, have had to make the difficult decision to cut jobs and programs. It's expected, but difficult all the same. The senior leadership team is new in working together. I can tell there is not a lot of trust - especially with two of them in particular. Unfortunately it has led to these two to act a bit territorial in their area of work - despite what they show or talk about with their direct teams - and have left a lot of us feeling caught in the middle. Change can do that to a person. I've also seen some senior leaders make the wrong choices about who to let go and when. And have unfortunately allowed the wrong people to lead. Despite these cons, God is good and there is a good amount of grace for each as well as God. Enough grace that has allowed us to get past these challenges or even work productively in spite of them. However, it has led to bouts of low moral...if it wasn't for the immediate colleagues who are working hard everyday, I think it would be more difficult to overlook the antics of those who unfortunately grasps opportunities in the fray of change (lack of clarity in some cases) and the human, fearful nature of senior leaders who need to focus on leading and not territory.

Pros

Wonderful people and colleagues. Wonderful mission. It's a great place to work. A great blend of for-profit efficiency with nonprofit meaning/fulfillment.

Cons

It can be hard to be promoted. There isn't always a lot of room for growth. Also, there can be a lot of red tape to cut through to get things done.
