Pros

Everyone I work with is smart, engaged, and interested in doing high quality work. My day to day experience is fun and full of laughs. I am learning faster and more deeply than ever before in my career. I am grateful for having found Asynchrony. The combination of work environment, people, and benefits add up to the best job I've ever had.

Cons

If you are averse to charting your own course you probably won't thrive here. Teams are responsible for choosing the tools and methods we use. It means we have a great deal of control over the development process. With that control comes an expectation of serious consideration and thorough examination of options.

Thanks for the comments, and we're grateful to have employees like you working with us! We are acutely aware of the importance of maintaining the culture as we grow. We have started by focusing on the onboarding process, allowing nearly all of our project team new hires to spend two months on a low pressure internal project to give them a chance to learn who we are before they join one of our client teams. While they are on this team, they also get about two weeks of training in Agile philosophies and technical disciplines, and these classes are constantly being refined to better meet our needs. We've been executing this program successfully since late last year and have already seen it bear fruit in better integration of new hires with our teams. Keeping our culture needs to be something we're all committed to, however. Don't allow your team to compromise on delivery without discussing what you see and making sure everyone understands the risks. Hold each other accountable to treating your teammates with respect and keeping expectations high. Never stop seeking ways to improve. If everyone commits to keeping this a great place to be a software developer, we're going to have a much better chance of continuing success.

Pros

Benefits, Access to the ATC, IT and HR were very helpful when I had questions, Had a great opportunity to get hands on experience with new Cisco technologies, Was allowed to grow and management had confidence in my abilities

Cons

I was pigeonholed into one position and could not transfer out. They preferred to lose me as an employee than let me move on to a new challenge. I would have fared better if I did not have family obligations. Blatant employee favoritism, pathetic compensation increase after a good review and the company posting a profit, Each business vertical is its own separate entity and if Jim K does not know your manager's name or how much profit he is bringing in your vertical will not get any corporate 'love' No recognition. None, nada, zilch. Worked my fingers to the bone. Got recognition from the client in writing, which I showed management but received no praise or recognition from them. Upper management does not provide any guidance to lower management. A lower manager can ask for advice/experience/thoughts/input and be told, "You have to make that decision on your own. I can't make that decision for you." Not asking for you to tell me what to do, just what your years of experience thinks about this situation.
