Pros

I learned a lot from the Chief, and from some of the senior Engineers back in Reading. They should make themselves and their expertise more available to others.

Cons

They fill the office with agency people for a long term project, because they can't get anybody from the home office to relocate. The one guy that they did bring brought his politics with him; anybody who doesn't acknowledge him as a leader will be complained about to the Nuclear Engineering Manager. This Structural Engineer has driven off all the senior engineers, the Project Manager, and his deputy. They don't even get that much work from the client. Enercon gets most of the job assignments.

Pros

Good money, hours can be flexible.

Cons

Company culture is lacking, people just do the work but don't love it. Direction is hard to determine.

Pros

- Very competitive salary - Competitive benefits - 4 days * 10 hours work week is typical, but may be different for a given project - Incentive programs depending on the project - They make a good effort to develop new talent through a graduate development program (although not always work, you'd need some luck) - What you learn depends on the project you work on - The younger crowd is very friendly and supportive

Cons

- If there are not many active projects prepare for layoffs. One might say this is the case everywhere, but it seemed to be specially true in this type of company (engineering services) - If there are not many active projects and you are able to stay in the company get ready for a you-are-lucky-to-have-a-job culture where you are expected to do whatever you are asked to which could very well be meaningless. You might end up jumping between different insignificant roles. - There is not a clear path for career growth. I had the impression engineers are seen as an asset used to make money (instead of a culture where people grow their careers within the company).
