Pros

The ESOP, profit sharing, and preformance bonuses can really be lucrative if your business unit can be profitable. Corperate management is great, and want to provide benefits for all employees. Diverse business unit specalties create a strong recession resistant business.

Cons

Towered business unit leadership creates a franchise like model that kills inter business unit collaberation. Employee safety is ignored for the benefit of the bottom line at times. Business unit management are the employee's only point of contact, and complaints to that level are often ignored. Every business unit is treated as a totally different company. This creates a different culture for each unit. When complaints are made above business unit managers, retalation commonly occurs. Dont expect the employee handbook to be your ruleset, Your business unit manager will have their own rules to enforce against you.
