Pros

The company went from 20 people to now over 160 in the past two years. There are a lot of smart people who here who not only understand the tech but also the business. The team I am working on is using the latest tech. More importantly, I feel the team is invested in me and willing to mentor. The compensation is quite good and you also have the flexibility in working remote.

Cons

There are a lot of things to learn.

Pros

Decent benefits (a couple health apps that are worth $5/month that you get for free like Headspace). Remote-first culture is a plus, although they only help you with a $1k stipend for home office supplies. Runs out fast after a chair and a keyboard/mouse. An ongoing smaller stipend would be much better. Some very kind people work here.

Cons

The company is top-heavy with ideas, and dissent is not sought, appreciated, or heeded. There's an illusion of a flat company structure like you might see at a startup, but the hierarchy becomes apparent when opinions differ. Only the opinions of the key decision-makers matter. Some decision-makers even question why you would disagree with them, which eventually leads to nobody disagreeing out loud, stifling collaboration. Why hire smart and opinionated people who want to contribute, then? They have only recently figured out that they should first learn what users want before implementing one person's design or feature idea. They keep course-correcting after making preventable and expensive mistakes. This ruins both the employee experience and the user experience. It only takes one bad hire in the wrong position to wreck morale. Overall: - Zero mobility in the company - Zero accountability from leadership, especially HR when it comes to company initiatives and values - HR has done a nice job at removing any semblance of company culture from Wurl with a messy attempt to build morale - Leadership constantly tells employees to "stay tuned" or "more to come" without providing follow up, substance or answers - Referral program in 2021 led to friends hiring friends, not talent... creating unbalanced favoritism and unfit hires (referree just wants the big pay bonus) - Company has no intention of supporting the people behind the company in a way that will increase the morale and trust

Company Culture = Top Priority

Pros

Excellent company culture and benefits; they truly care about their employees Unlimited PTO - they promote taking time off and will let you know if it's been too long Fully remote - no commuting Work/Life balance - at a startup, this can be hard to have but they try their best and make it a priority Flexible work hours - can go to the doctor during the day, etc.

Cons

Can expect travel occasionally which can be difficult with families/personal responsibilities (but can also be nice to see people in person if that's what you like) Hours can be long at times (but they are very flexible on what hours you work - whenever is convenient for you)
