Pros

Keep your head down and do your time, management won't bother you. Floor leads usually just leaves you alone as long as you get your setups and strikes completed. They keep you on the clock for lunch breaks. The EDR (employee dining room) is decent.

Cons

Worked for over 5 years in the Convention A/V department (EPS) and never got any recognition from management. No incentives. A lot of the staff are jaded and big into hierarchy. If you are not full time...you might as well not consider it a career. They hire temp agencies (Nfinite Labor & Elf Labor) to do all the fun and easier work like room op/board op for meetings and seminars while the floor crew does all the setup/strikes taking all accountability. Management hires a lot of "interesting" people such as transgendered or transitioning people which might not be something you want to deal with. You will be walking on egg shells a lot to avoid the HR department. The daily flow sheets were 30 plus pages (double sided) due to the incredibly high volume of work. There was no separation between the Wynn and Encore convention rooms which means you will be doing A LOT of walking back and forth.

Pros

Complimentary food (only one swipe per shift) makes up for its low wages. Not many companies provide free food for its employees. Good management depends on what department you're in. Most managers are friendly and understanding. Very nice property to work in. Better job security than MGM.

Cons

Very low pay- this is completely understandable with today's economy. However, it is going to take a lot of sacrifice and planning from your side. Difficult to grow within the company.
