Not a bad place and not bad people

Pros

Some very nice, some very helpful and absolutely some very smart people. Pay is not bad at all although not sure it is worth the spinning wheel of what will my job be today or what is most important today.

Cons

For a tech company they have one piece of tech. It is the instant pricing on the website. At one time it was good however it is clear, now it is outdated and incorrect more times than not. All other systems are cobbled together or purchased apps to fill a momentary void. No long term vision. Company is very silo oriented and obtaining help from another group is next to impossible. The word TEAM is nonexistent. This is a true “show we are better than them” mentality. Position justification is a constant topic. No written, shared, published in any way, discussed or even a mention of a plan for the future.

Pros

1. Colleagues who are fiercely intelligent, unusually hard-working and genuinely dedicated to making manufacturing markets more efficient. 2. Excellent benefits (e.g., health insurance, 401k, etc.) 3. An experienced senior management team. This isn't their first rodeo; they know how to scale a technology company from inception through successful exit. 4. An admirable COVID19 response that has prioritized employee health and safety and that has also included numerous opportunities for company bonding and employee self-care 5. Numerous opportunities to gain breadth or depth of experience, either through promotion within a single department or through lateral moves between departments.

Cons

Xometry faces many of the same challenges encountered by other high-growth tech companies: 1. Cross-department communication and collaboration is improving, but could be even better. 2. As we scale, the company is working hard to maintain the close-knit culture of a start-up; it's still a work in progress.
