Pros

Work life balance Good benefits

Cons

Extremely disorganized leadership following acquisition. Management brought in made assumptions without understanding how teams or products actually worked. Multiple rounds of layoffs that have been ongoing for years, creating constant instability and fear. Loss of institutional knowledge as experienced employees were laid off. Outsourcing and frequent team changes negatively impacted collaboration and quality. Poor communication and lack of transparency during restructuring. Culture was amazing at my company before Xplor acquired it, after it was downhill from the structure and leadership.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing this – and for being specific about what didn't work. That's genuinely useful feedback. Integration after acquisitions is one of the hardest things any company does, and we know the experience isn't always smooth for those living through it. When teams that have built something great suddenly face new structures and new leadership, that transition needs to be handled carefully, and your feedback tells us where we need to do better. We take the point about communication and stability seriously. How change is managed matters just as much as the change itself, and that's something we're continuing to work on. Thanks again for taking the time to leave your feedback. We wish you all the best.

Pros

Some teams had strong, supportive managers who genuinely tried to do right by their reports. The company offered remote work, generous PTO, and competitive compensation. Certain roles allowed for a high degree of independence and autonomy, and there were opportunities for employees to stretch into responsibilities outside their prior experience.

Cons

The company grows too quickly without the operational maturity to support that growth. There was a top-heavy leadership structure with many layers of executives (VPs, SVPs, Directors), but little alignment between them. Decision-making was inconsistent, and priorities shifted frequently. Roles were often poorly defined and under-resourced. In some cases, employees reported to multiple leaders with conflicting expectations, while lacking the authority or visibility needed to be effective. Success depended heavily on informal inclusion rather than clear ownership or documented processes. Leadership spoke frequently about culture and values, but these were not consistently reflected in actions. Layoffs and reorganizations felt abrupt and poorly communicated, creating a sense of instability and low psychological safety. There was noticeable leadership turnover, which further contributed to uncertainty and loss of institutional knowledge. This environment may work for those who thrive in ambiguity and political navigation, but it was challenging for employees seeking clear scope, accountability, and sustainable execution.

Hi there, Thank you for such a thoughtful and balanced review. It's clear you've reflected carefully on your experience, and we appreciate the detail. The points about role clarity, alignment across leadership, and the gap between values and day-to-day experience are the kind of feedback that helps us improve. Scaling quickly creates real growing pains, and the challenges you've described around decision-making consistency and informal vs. formal structures are things we're actively working through. Your comment about not expecting your advice to be heard is noted, too. We know that trust comes from what we do, not what we say in a Glassdoor response. Feedback like yours does reach senior leaders, and it contributes to how we're creating clearer structures and more consistent communication. Wishing you well in whatever comes next.
