Pros

Excellent benefits. Amazing resources. Good facilities. The university succeeds when it's people do, so they make sure that their people do.

Cons

Well, it's a post-doc, right? Long hours, high expectations, pay not commensurate with abilities. This is not so much a reflection on Yale specifically, although at the post-doc orientation there was a strong suggestion that one return to work after dinner.

Good: benefits, all the nice parts of working at a university with smart people who are interested and curious about their work, nice working environment

Cons

Bad: it's an exploitative institution, has a lot of work to do to respect New Haven, just like all elite institutions the focus can be on image/propriety over the supposed mission of universities
