Pros

Yardi's culture and benefits are fantastic. My colleagues are smart, supportive, and truly collaborative, making the work environment a huge positive. The benefits package is top-tier, with 100% employer-paid medical premiums and profit-sharing that show a genuine commitment to employee well-being.

Cons

The biggest drawback is the compensation model and a recent shift in remote work policy. The uniform salary structure is grossly unfair to employees in high-cost areas like Santa Barbara, where a non-competitive base salary makes it nearly impossible to live comfortably. This feels like a major disparity that the company refuses to address, making many feel undervalued. Furthermore, a recent decision has restricted employee mobility. It is no longer possible to go fully remote or transfer to another office, effectively tying us to our current, expensive locations without a pay adjustment. This rigid policy, combined with a lack of clear career paths or mentorship opportunities, leaves many of us feeling stuck. It's a difficult trade-off: a great team and benefits, but a low salary and limited professional growth. If you're in a low-cost area, this may be a great option, but for those in expensive markets, Yardi's model is a serious challenge.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are pleased to hear that Yardi’s culture, collaborative colleagues, and generous benefits—including employer‑paid medical premiums and profit‑sharing—have made a positive impact. At the same time, we understand your concerns about compensation fairness in high‑cost regions like Santa Barbara and the limitations of a location‑agnostic salary model. Your suggestion to explore tiered geographic pay and develop structured career pathways with mentorship is thoughtful. We appreciate your commitment over the past 5–7 years!

Pros

- Employer-paid health insurance premiums - Profit sharing dropped into your 401k every March - Relative work-life balance compared to other companies - Great as a "fresh out of college" job for entry level tech experience (self-advertised by Yardi each year at sales conference and in internal meetings)

Cons

- Terrible CRM (over 40 years old, 5-10+ clicks to get anything done, custom/in-house made by the CEO in the 80s, frequently times out so any written work not manually saved after 15 minutes will be erased, constantly crashes for hours at a time and loses information in discoveries, demos, calls, etc) - Extreme micro-management of metrics that have absolutely nothing to do with actual closed sales (ex: manually connecting opportunities, the "qualification" check box that takes a minimum of 5 clicks to open per company) - Extremely low pay for the industry (both base pay and commissions) unless you are at an Enterprise or higher management level - Even if you are the #1 top selling rep, have 3+ years of tenure and company loyalty, you will NOT get a raise (even when you ask and provide data of being a top rep), will be passed up for open positions you apply to in favor of external hires, and will NOT be held to the same standard of past sales quotas and past fake metrics of those currently in management - Direct managers will turn a blind eye to those they are friends with - MAJOR company politics to learn, dance around, and suck up to if you have any chance for advancing your career

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We are glad to hear that our benefits, pay, ability to work remotely, and weekends off stood out as positives during your time with us. Some of your experiences are different from what we hear from our talented Technical Account Managers worldwide. At Yardi, our core values focus on integrity, inclusion, and respect in the workplace, and we work diligently to ensure employees genuinely feel a sense of being valued, connected, and supported. We highly encourage anyone with concerns of this nature or those who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time to meet with the VP of HR to further discuss.
