Pros

- Great Teammates. - Paid health insurance (HMO). - Established company so there's no fear of "will the company be around next year" like young start-ups.

Cons

- Upper management is out of touch with associates professional and person needs (Directors and VPs), in my opinion. - Very slow bureaucratic management. - I feel management is reactive as opposed to proactive with associate retention. - If you're an Account Manager in Consulting Practice, you're dedicated to those clients and you may feel like you're on the client's payroll as opposed to Yardi's. - Salaries are claimed to be above industry standard. That doesn't take into account the standard of living in some cities, ie Santa Barbara or San Diego - Promotions seem to be given on a strict timeline as opposed to performance, ie Associate the first year > Professional the 2nd > Senior 3rd > etc.

Our Technical Account Managers have such an important role working with clients and we appreciate their hard work that makes Yardi successful. Promotions happen consistently throughout the organization, as deserved by hardworking employees. As with any strong company, these are based on merit and performance. All of our executives and managers have an open-door policy and we encourage employees to schedule time with them to discuss any concerns. We wish you the best in the future.

Pros

Boring monotonous work Some clients make me want to jump off a bridge Easy to jump ship and double your salary doing the same thing

Cons

Pay is low for the cost of living Other companies pay much higher doing the same work High turnover as a lot of people want out after only a few months and move to much higher paying positions, those who stay longer are usually really sad people with very little drive are complacent with being average forever. Those who have drive typically jump ship after a few months or a year and double their salary at similar companies. Sometimes it's pretty much like working at a call center. Help people change their passwords because they forgot. Except most if not all have a college degree and could probably be doing something better. The product is very buggy and that's why most people work in support since things are always breaking Our back end team is in India and have high turn-around because the pay isn't good.

Readers of the Yardi Glassdoor reviews will recognize that your experience at Yardi is quite different from that of other employees who have posted. Many employees have discovered there are lots of opportunities for growth. Over 600 employees (10%) have been with Yardi for 10+ years and continue to move up. All of our salaries are benchmarked against national norms and our wonderful benefits include 100% paid health care premium, a FSA plan, 401k, profit sharing, vacation condos, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, great discounts to a variety of places both near and far, and more. Best of luck in the future!

Pros

Good work life balance. Casual place to work.

Cons

The company is cheap. Employees salaries are lower than industry average. There is a minimal bonus, $250 a year for all employees. There is profit sharing, but there is no 401K match of any sort. Education reimbursement is minimal at best. The company doesn't even offer commuter transit account/pass; they offer to pay 50% of commuter fee inform of reimbursement but the reimbursement is taxed. The company seems more concerned with donating money to charities than paying their employees what they deserve for all their hard work. There is also a severe lack of management, training and any sense of direction. Personally my manager is in a different office and I speak with them about once a month. And training is poor throughout all areas/departments of the company. There are online internal training courses, but what is needed is to have internal employee trainers for employee applications.

You are correct that Yardi is very passionate about giving back to the community. The Yardi Blog features many articles about organizations we work with and how employees are also giving their time in our local communities. All of our salaries are benchmarked against national norms and salary is only one component of your overall compensation, along with paying 100% of your health care premium, a FSA plan, 401k, profit sharing that is much higher than what most companies match, bonuses when deserved, and other great perks like vacation condos, tuition reimbursement, and parental leave. We encourage you to reach schedule time with HR to discuss your concerns. Thank you for writing this review.
