Pros

There is no pros to working there

Cons

I was harassed terribly by one Deputy because of my age. He humiliated me in front of Nursing staff as well as inmates. Distracting me during med pass and left me in an unsafe environment. Cell door was open , he left the area and closed a locked door behind him to get a place rubber glove which he then came back and put it on his head like a fool, no one would help me when I told Management.

We are sorry to hear about your employment experience with Corizon Health. Corizon Health is committed to providing a work environment free from harassment and discrimination. The employee handbook has multiple avenues for employees to file a complaint and ensure an investigation to the matter. The Code of Conduct & Ethics training, which all employees take upon hire and annually thereafter, also provides avenues for employees and others to report inappropriate behavior. Sincerely, Heather Dale Sr. Employee Relations Specialist

I’m glad that you are enjoying your time, for the most part. I understand the desire for onsite HR representation. In fact, many of our larger state contracts, do in fact have embedded HR representation. There is an advantage to having most of the HR group located in the HST offices, though, as this leads to better communication and more consistency in dealing with any issues that may arise in the field. I think your suggestion about more onsite training, and less WebEx Organizational Development team, as they are responsible for all the training aspects for the HR department. If there are specific aspects you feel like you’d benefit from, in person, please feel free to email me and I will share with the OD team. Courtney.Penning@CorizonHealth.com Thanks for the feedback! Sincerely, Courtney Penning Director of Talent Acquisition
