      Need to be Ready to Go, Not a Place for Apprenticeship

      Pros

      1. A lot of independence to work with the client and make decisions on how to best serve the client without outside management interference. 2. Ability to move to a difference client if there are issues and it is not working out. 3. CPE credits through trainings throughout the year 4. Colleagues generally helpful, try to create a collaborative environment. 5. Can take as little or as many clients if part-time.

      Cons

      1. Sink or swim. Given very little guidance when a client is given to you, you will need to figure it out. 2. A lot to juggle if full-time because of how timesheets are structured. 3. Pressure of clients limited budget and their sometimes extreme needs which require more time and $ then budgeted.

Staff have shared that the opportunity to work independently and to make their own decision is a plus to working at YPTC. Therefore, we strive to make sure that each new hire has a positive experience with onboarding and support. We have implemented support structures that help our staff access resources, balance their schedule, and communicate when a shift is needed.       Pros

      Mission-driven nonprofit accounting firm with a great culture and flexibility. Comp and benefits are excellent, especially considering the 35 hour work week!
