Pros

Great company that serves the military community.

Cons

Executives and Managers are the worst that I've worked with. They bring in new people to get the people in and terminate the ones that's been there.

Pros

Company provides a great service to the Navy community!

Cons

Salary is abysmal- most employees hold Master's degrees or higher and earn entry level salaries, very little direction or training program, receive different directives from different managers that never equal the same conclusion. Government employees in similar positions such as Marine Corps civilians receive better compensation, better benefits package and better training/management.

Pros

Absolutely fantastic opportunity to work with military members and be a part of their community. Also, great to work within the military culture. Opportunity to participate in Return and Reunions on ships if Navy affiliated. Not many civilians get to do that! You receive 2 weeks vacation the first year and also have the option for a 3rd week or $ towards education/training. (Most people take the extra week of vacation.)

Cons

No room for advancement. Depending on who your direct report is (contract or civilian/govt.) very little opportunity to be groomed for promotion. You can move from job to job within the Zeiders contract onsite, but not really being promoted to another position. Pay is ridiculously low for quality of recruits they can choose from. Do not negotiate salary. Sadly, many of the employees are military spouses and company sees them as just a second income for the family rather than professionals. If the Govt decides to do a govt. freeze it is typically the contractors from Zeiders that cover the facility during the furloughs.

Zeiders Enterprises Response

Thank you for your feedback. It’s great hear that you enjoyed working with the military community and the very unique experience of being deployed aboard Navy ships to provide support services. It is also good to hear that you appreciated our employee benefits plan. It is true that during the recent furlough of government employees, Zeiders employees were able to continue our work in providing support services to our military families. We are very proud of the dedication to support those in need that our employees show every day. We are also pleased that you appreciated your salary increase during the time you worked with Zeiders and your suggestions for retaining our great team members. We are working hard to develop career and professional development opportunities for our team members. Many of our leaders achieved their current positions through internal promotion and transfer opportunities during their company tenure. The Holiday Gift program we offer allows our employees the choice of selecting either a gift from our company store catalog, or selecting the opportunity to have the company make a contribution in the employee’s name to a non-profit organization which serves military and veteran families, including the USO, the National Military Family Association, and the Quality of Life Foundation (QOLF). Employees were provided the names and links to the websites of all three beneficiary organizations. No attempt was made to hide the fact that the QOLF, a 501 (c)(3) corporation, was founded by Mike and Charlotte Zeiders to address the needs of families who provide daily, substantial care for severely wounded, ill or injured veterans in their homes. You can learn more about the QOLF at www.qolfoundation.org. While you are no longer with Zeiders, we are pleased that hear that you would recommend us to a friend. Thank you again for your feedback and service to the company.
