Thank you for taking the time to write your review and for the thoughtful detail on your advice. Happy to hear about your positive experiences with co-workers, IT support and our beautiful location at Seattle HQ. As you experienced, we are changing and evolving constantly at ZG, and with change can come lack of clarity and direction if not messaged correctly. A priority for us in 2019 and going into 2020 is a clear line of site with our OKR’s and direction with our entire team, including proactive communication and transparent messaging on the “why” behind our direction and decisions made. Regarding our customers and sales team, you are right in the fact that we need to listen to them and calibrate based on that feedback. We launched a new role Senior Director, Partner Engagement a few months ago with the goal of ingesting the voice of our customers and delivering improvements based on our partner’s feedback. This will help to alleviate the challenges you may have experienced in your department. Lastly, we are currently in the process of gathering feedback from our Fall Employee Engagement Survey and will deliver our plans of action to improve in each department based on this feedback. We absolutely take these surveys seriously and will communicate our plans to build on what is working and fill the gaps where we are missing the mark based on this employee feedback. I would love to hear additional feedback or suggestions you have around voice of the customer and how we can build and improve on communication within our teams in 2020. Feel free to email me at brandoni@zillowgroup.com. Best of luck in your next opportunity and thank you again for your review. Brandon Inouye - Senior Director, Zillow Premier Agent Sales

Pros

In my time working at Zillow (less than 2 years) I have witnessed some of its growth (acquiring trulia, launching a new app for pros, etc) and I have not felt lost, or like an anonymous individual in a sea of people. Zillow is a great place to work at if you're proactive, hard working, creative, and an innovative problem solver. Clearly their amazing benefits and fun work environment are huge perks, but for me, the way zillow allows employees to come up with ideas, run with them (as a pilot, small project that grows, or mini initiative) is the reason why i love being here. I have always found at Zillow that if you have a good idea there is nothing to stop you but yourself, and the quality of your idea.

Cons

While it is difficult for me to find major cons, I believe that we can only improve with honest constructive feedback, so here's some of what I have noticed (that they are already working on!) * Our benefits are amazing, but uneven (DTO for some, and limited PTO for others) above average parental leave, and other great benefits. But it stops short and is not revolutionary enough in a competitive tech environment. I'd like to see longer parental leave benefits, tuition assistance, pet care for work-travel, etc. *Unclear road to career growth: I don't feel personally affected by this. I feel that I am entrepreneurial enough to make my way and find or make my own opportunities. But if someone doesn't have have that self-starter spirit or know the right people, it's difficult to see a clear path to grow in your career. * HACK week not open to the entire company - we're missing out on collaboration from other teams. * Not enough focus in hiring and growing our ability to serve customers in languages other than English.
