going downhill

Pros

-remote -good base pay -good coworkers

Cons

started off great, now they are micro managing at every step, increased the activity expectations to the point that you are worried more about making nonsense calls than actually selling the product. The recently did layoffs but called it something else which is a lie. They are creating a burn out culture.

Pros

I can think of zero pros for working at Zillow

Cons

Brand recognition doesn’t always reflect internal reality. In my experience, employees were treated like numbers rather than long-term investments. High performers were not immune to layoffs, and decisions appeared financially driven rather than performance-based. Transparency during periods of change was limited. I would strongly encourage candidates to carefully evaluate job stability before joining.

Dead end and dying culture

Pros

Prior to recent times it had good pay and prospects, but I would be hard-pushed to find a pro right now.

Cons

Morale has fallen off a cliff with large performance layoffs this year under a “raising the bar” banner, demanding more for less. This decimation has gutted the culture. If backfilling happens, it’s with off-shore workers who get half the pay at most. AI vision is the worst I’ve heard of, they absolutely despise their tech workers and can’t wait to not have them in the loop at all. Pay has stagnated, refreshers were overpriced, promotions are no where to be seen outside of management. This is not a career role anymore which is unfortunate as it was once very good.
