Pros

There are lots of good fellow employees. My peers are friendly and fun to work with. Middle level management is caring and supportive. The benefits are very good, especially health care. This is a stable prfitable company and the medical industry is relatively immune to economic downturns.

Cons

They try to get by without hiring enough people and pushing you to work lots of overtime. The company has spent millions literally on hordes of consultants and prefers to outsource much of their work. They have not been able to attract competitive talent. Upper managemnet can be somewhat rigid and inflexible, but at the very top level they are trying to encourage inovation.

Pros

I enjoyed the location of Biomet, the Co-Workers within the building, and the pay I received was comparable. It was a nice place to work in general. My direct supervisor was very understanding with various personal issues I had that may/may not have intruded upon my work. I appreciated that.

Cons

Hours were long sometimes, early in the morning, sometimes I was working at 2a at a hospital for a salesman who was making all the money with the commissions. Upon that, higher management was a little arrogant sometimes, but other than that- not too much. As I have said, it was a nice place to work.

Pros

Good people with opportunities for advancement. Good industry. I learned a lot about the industry and was given a fair amount of responsibility early on in my career. The organization is large and presents opportunities to move around but it can be difficult to make some transitions. You need to request changes to make sure they really happen.

Cons

Can be a little political and a little difficult to advance if you don't have the right relationships. It can also take a lot time for people to make a decision and to drive change through the company. Head quarters are in the middle of no where.
