Workers Beware!

Pros

Good Co-worker relationships. Everyone relies on everyone else. Enduring friendships have been made among lateral workers. Decent training and emphasis on certifications, with vouchers paid for and tests are covered.

Cons

You have NO political capital, the company sees you as a slab of warm meat filling a chair. You can work your butt off, make almost 6 figures and get awarded many accolades and make VIP status and still get canned 3 months later based solely on numbers. GOD forbid the company has a bad month or quarter or you WILL get chopped. You are ALWAYS in competition with the India Team, and they are indeed offshoring jobs at a FAST rate. The statements about growth are true, IF you live in INDIA. They are paying fully certified CIsco CCIE's between 12 and 14K a year. There's NO way an American Citizen in Auburn, Portland, Chicago, or Dallas can compete with THAT!

Pros

none really except your co-workers, it used to be a fun place to work.

Cons

no job security, low pay, management top heavy, lies and lack of benefits. this used to be a great place with opportunity, now after many jobs lost to india, then they fired all of them, moved another huge batch to Pakistan its only a matter of time till all US jobs get moved to other countries. A technology company that doesn't embrace technology, micro management from managers that don't understand the system and continually make poor choices on tools to be competitive and do our jobs. They changed sick pay and vacation without telling us, leaving many with dollars lost, They are horrible on communication.

Most people with a brain have left

Pros

Easy commute against Eastside traffic. Used to be a great opportunity for those who like driving org change. Used to have some great leaders in Operations.

Cons

Everyone with any brains have quit or have been let go by now. A few deranged managers at the wheel are playing musical chairs and perceive subordinates as personal secretaries. (Get ready for some assignments for the sake of assignments; you are not producing anything meaningful). Several leaders have neither training nor knowledge of driving a mid-sized organization (let alone any college degrees). Pay is below average Seattle Metro tech, and benefits are laughable. Forget about bonuses. Open space = you are in a room with 100 people divided by waist-level walls, sitting in a chair with biological stains on it, listening to low-pay admins cracking jokes and passing gas. There are no growth opportunities: there is no reason to promote you if you do your job well, but if you do it too well - you get to do other people's jobs too. Management hands out gimmicky titles to those who have no education or training int he field, just to prevent people from leaving. Grats, you are now in the oldest American start-up (that feels and runs like one).
