Pros

There are a couple of decent employees left, albeit in the lower ranks.

Cons

This place is crashing like the Titanic. At one time, compensation and perks were competitive with the industry standard, but over the past few years, Zones has removed every financial and personal benefit to working there. The US salesforce (where the bulk of the profit comes from) is dwindling exponentially, yet exploding overseas (where profit margins are often under 1%). The sales floor looks like an abandoned set from the movie Tombstone, with more dust bunnies and tumbleweeds than actual sales staff. The rash decision making here leaves employees confused and anxious, and any questions asked about company changes are gaslit or unanswered. Management and C level is nothing more than an unproductive boys club who close their ears to legitimate employee concerns. Numerous blatant sexual harassment and discrimination complaints from myself and fellow colleagues were brushed off and swept under the rug; many incidents were excused as ‘natural guy behavior’. Morale is at an all time low, and employees (both US and overseas) spend large chunks of their days complaining amongst themselves about the miserable working conditions. Accounts you’ve worked with for years can be taken away and given to a brand new sales rep without any explanation, while most competitors now offer a guarantee against this. SPIFFs are a fraction of what they used to be, and the minimal prizes and perks they do award these days are cheep and cheesy. There is no opportunity for growth as they no longer offer the ability to ramp up as a sales executive, neither through knowledge nor title. They no longer offer certifications (product or sales), and current trainings are proctored by employees who lack adequate tech sales knowledge and experience. A lot of energy and money is spent on announcing company wide “sweeping changes” that will benefit the entire sales force, yet every single initiative vanishes with less acknowledgment than a fart in the wind. No improvements are ever made and the salesforce is increasingly disregarded and under-valued. Literally every other tech reseller is doing business better, paying more, and offering a higher base pay and compensation percentage than Zones.
