Pros

Start up feel with the security of a large company. Meritocracy - teams that contribute get rewarded as such. Management team - tons of industry veterans. Most recent reorg has everyone in the right roles. Data driven decision making

Cons

Work life balance is a problem for most. Unlimited vacation policy is rarely able to be utilized to decompress and detach from the office. High expectations from management with regards to turn around times that are sometimes unreasonable.

Pros

- great compensation and perks (free lunch/dinner, bonuses, gym, etc.) - work has effect on the culture at large given huge audience; feel like you have a voice - though it can vary by team, people are friendly and smart - making games is more enjoyable than most other types of software development - lots of exposure to new technologies / learn a lot

Cons

- can be long hours and weekends, esp. around game launches - can involve travel at times - stock is struggling, and aforementioned perks+compensation a bit dialed back as a result - job security can be an issue if a game is not successful (though that is less the case for engineers)
