Sadly Far away from what it used to be

Pros

Still one of the big companies with large reserves, still an integrated major Oil, gas, production and distribution (upstream and downstream)

Cons

No real progression by merits, everything depends on who you know and you could climb 2, 3 or even more grades in the blink of an eye. If you are connected the could move you sideways in management or VP positions no matter if you have a clue. Extremely disproportioned agenda to place women, LGBT members on management, it almos looks like discrimination against the so called majority.

Just Ok

Pros

Canadian offices had every other Friday off and very little was done to ensure that the day off was actually earned under the 9/80.

Cons

Bureaucratic, out of touch, middle management often from accounting background rather than having any technical understanding of the business. They're big, so goal orientation is fuzzy, distant, and generally incomprehensible. Perpetual layoffs even when the market is hot.
