Pros

It is a fast paced Start up. That is as much of a pro as it is a con. Every employee has a lot of impact, and a lot of responsibility. There is always a lot of change; the company is very responsive to the customer and can change directions very quickly. In my opinion, this is a good thing. It may be a little stressful, but that is the nature of a successful start up.

Cons

It's tough to achieve a decent work life balance; there is always more to do. Some people can read every thing I wrote under Pros as a negative. If any of that presents a problem, this isn't the place for you.

Great internship!

Pros

The dotloop internship is very unique and exciting for multiple reasons. The first is it provides an intern to gain valuable experience in technology start-ups that you could traditionally only get by going to work on the east or west cost. The second is that dotloop is right in the transition period from start-up to large company. This creates an environment that allows you to see how successful start-ups grow and function while also giving you experience in functioning in "corporate culture." The most valuable part of this internship has been the opportunity to work on corporate strategic projects. Just last week myself and the other intern were personally assigned a project to develop the framework for the company's repositioning in the market. We then gave a presentation on our findings to the entire upper-level management team. Every day is different but every day you have the ability to learn something that will stick with you for the rest of your career.

Cons

Currently there is a deficit of people on the marketing team that creates periods of confusion/a lack of direction and proper training to allow us to effectively do our jobs. This requires us to be proactive with our initiatives instead of sitting around and waiting to be told what to do next. This could be a pro or a con depending on what type of person you are.

Thanks for your review. I recall being involved in the positioning project you mentioned - amazing work! I'm glad you highlighted the people deficit in Marketing. This is one challenge that's tough to avoid as an early stage rapidly growing company... in that there's always more work to do than people to do it. So this is a great reminder for us to set clear expectations early in the hiring process with new Loopers. Thanks again! Austin

Thanks for your review. I have so much respect for everyone on our Support team for the work that you do. The product knowledge, empathy and patience that is require to serve our customers is admirable, so its refreshing to know that it's being rewarded appropriately! Thanks for calling out the communication between departments as an area of improvement. We agree. I hope it's gotten better over the past year as we've made this a focus for our business, but definitely understand that there's more work to do. I promise that we'll keep working to be better in this area! Austin
