Pros

I have been working at goFLUENT for 5 years now and love my job. The hours are what I want and I love that I can get on with the job at home and if I want can change the hours for a different schedule. There is nothing better than seeing the progress that a learner makes when taking regular lessons with me. The team manager is always there to help me if I need it. Working from home is a huge benefit when I don't have to use fuel money or even put on makeup. Love my job and would not change it!

Cons

The pay could be a little more but I find that I am not in it for the money but take into account the fact I don't have to sit in traffic and can work wherever I have internet!

Pros

goFLUENT means a lot to me. It is a great company to work for. The management team and support staff are exemplary. The operations support staff runs a helpdesk that is the most capable I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The software is easy to use and is constantly being upgraded. As an English trainer, I have learned so much from my learners. I get to travel all over the world every day. It is a blessing to work with such wonderful learners. I have many long term learners, several who come back every year. It is amazing to see their progress, and hear them start to use idiomatic expressions comfortably, is just the best feeling. As their fluency improves so does their confidence. Some say working over the phone is very difficult and true learning cannot be done. All my learners have proven them wrong. Each lesson the learner gains more of an understanding because they concentrate on your voice, there are no physical cues to help them. I love this position, it allows me to combine my love of teaching and business with learning about other people and cultures. I love that my learners share parts of their work lives and home lives with me, we laugh, they learn, and it spreads understanding of more than just what is on the computer screen. You have the ability to work from home. Some say they feel detached, and I can understand that, there is no water cooler to stand around to chat. My manager is always available via Skype or google chat. I love the fact that I can work from home and still be so fulfilled. We do have forums/message boards but not many use them. You can choose your own schedule, we are a 24/7 company. As long as you meet the minimum requirements your schedule is entirely up to you. I love the review style, they review you with the idea of how they can help you give the learner the best experience. They will coach you and help you. This company dose not make you feel bad if you make a mistake they work with you to fix it. I have a customer service background and this is completely new to me. In many Customer Service/sales/phone positions when you get reviewed you always feel sick while waiting to hear what you did wrong.

Cons

There are not many cons. except you get paid for the time you talk, not the time you are available. Luckily, however there is not much downtime between calls. They are very busy most of the year.

Pros

1. You can make your own schedule anytime that suits you (there are learners around the world in different time zones). 2. You can WORK IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME-no office politics to deal with! 3. You don't have to pack a lunch as you can eat at home. 3. You don't have to commute to work . 3. You don't have to buy additional or special clothing for your job. 4. You 'meet' very interesting people that live in some very intriguing places-the 'regular weekly learners' start to become like friends. 5. You develop a sense of appreciation for the interesting world that we live in & it gives you a better 'global view'-I now look at world news a lot differently than I used to.

Cons

1. It can feel isolating to work at home because there is no physical social interaction. 2. You need to give a month's notice if you want a day off if you have already planned your schedule. 3. There are no bonuses-Christmas, birthday or anniversary (i.e. 5 yr, 10 yr, etc.). 4. There is no paid vacation time. 5. There is no medical health insurance offered by the company.
