Pros

Weekly Pay, No Weekends, Bonuses from time to time, benefits

Cons

Contact Center employees are treated like they are beneath everyone, high school drama, HR doesn’t do anything because they are friends with management so they look out for management, they say their is room for growth but they only look out for the certain people!! Compensation could be better as well!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We work to treat all employees as equals despite job title or position. Respect is one of our five core values along with Trust, Compassion, Compliance and Accountability. We have zero tolerance for disrespect in our workplace and when observed it is addressed immediately. Our entire HR team always remains professional and unbiased in addressing any concerns with employees or managers. At the CU we often promote work life balance by offering alternating schedules, observing all major holidays and promoting communication with managers so accommodations can be made for employees (if necessary) on a case by case basis. In unison with our benefits packages we have multiple Employee Assistance Programs that are available 24/7 and employees are encouraged to utilize these resource because we do value the mental health of our employees and promote the overall wellbeing of them all, as people first and employees thereafter. Also, at iTHINK Financial, our total compensation is more than base salary, it includes a bonus structure, incentive program, tuition reimbursement, student loan payment reimbursement, and a 401k match program.

Pros

Excellent co-workers, pay is negotiable, flexible time off, interdepartmental tasks leads to lots of cross training, reasonable work hours that allow us to beat the horrible rush hour traffic, some leadership is truly focused on elevating their team, overall the products and services are actually beneficial to members, bonuses. I did also have a FANTASTIC branch manager.

Cons

There is a lack of moral within this Credit Union that all goes back to leadership and their behavior towards employees. Ppl are literally monitored constantly. The micro managing from upper leadership is extreme at times. Most of us do feel completely uneasy around them and do not believe they actually care for us as employees or humans. Turn over is high and I believe it is for this reason. Be prepared to have little to no training on your job. Training is about a week- maybe two if you are lucky. You'll get a basic overview of the systems used, shadow someone in your role, and then you're just on your own. Although I mentioned a lot of cross training as a pro, I will mention it as con as well. Sure it's great to learn a lot within other departments, but the pay for the ridiculous amount of tasks we are expected to complete is not up to par. Being thrown task from other department also leads people to feel very  unstable in what is actually expected of them. The calls. The endless and relentless calls to members. I regularly dealt with my members being frustrated because we are required to make repeated outbound calls to them to tell(sell) them about monthly promotions. There has to be a better way to increase business without the obnoxious level of cold calling. It comes off and so disingenuous and the members feel it. The favouritism is very noticable here. Lack of direction is baffling. There is never a straight forward answer for anything. You have to ask so many people to get partial answers. The work culture here is nice nasty.
