Poor management - engineers do not necessarily make good business managers. There is a reason that they lost revenue in 2023. No growth potential - pigeon-holed in position. Management lacks maturity. No process development. Do not expect from management or HR employee corrective action or performance improvement plans - they will just release you. No real security behavior - task verses behavior. Company risks overall employee safety. IT department lacks skills - very immature.

I started thinking I could maybe retire from nLIGHT. Quickly learned that all the managers are engineers with poor management experience. They hired me because of outside/ different experience. I was lauded for a few unique contributions/ way of developing…. Only to be reprimanded for not doing the things the way they do.. There is no broad picture, just focused on the monitors, to their determinant.
