Just like anyplace else there are cons. The most enjoyable part of our job is watching kids eyes light up every time they walk into the store. Over the years you build relationships and become part of their family; watching their building skills and enthusiasm for building grow. LEGO is more than just a toy for some. The hardest CON working at the LEGO Store is coping with the death of children that you have nurtured throughout the years.

There is not a lot of opportunity for upward movement or availability of hours. When obamacare started they made sure to not schedule any part timers over 27 hours ever. There is also a high turnover rate which makes it hard for the tenured employees to keep everything running smoothly. We are constantly training new people. Our store also has about 20 employees currently with our manager looking for more, which means less hours for everyone. Some people average 10-15 hours which is not livable but we are asked to have open availability and sometimes management is not always willing to work with another jobs schedule.
