GSB is proud of our team?s efforts to help our community during the pandemic. Watch this great video by the American Bankers Association that tells the story of how America?s Banks have stepped up to support customers. The COVID-19 pandemic has put the 2 million dedicated women and men who work in banking to test, and #AmericasBanks have responded by standing by their customers and communities. See more ways banks, including GSB, are helping individuals and businesses.
At GSB, we pride ourselves on being a community bank. Right now, the local businesses in our community are hurting. Our GSB employees have made the choice to support their local businesses in this time of COVID-19. Our colleauge Dave, shared that his family has committed to ordering take out from local restaurants twice a week and to try restaurants they've never been to before. We masked up and packed ourselves into the car for a family trip and were extremely excited to find a new place to get take out from. "The [Brother Mike's in Madison's] food was absolutely delicious." #InThisTogether
At GSB, we have taken the last few weeks both as individuals and as a banking institution o truly listen, to educate ourselves on how we could improve our contributions to fight against racism and to discern what our role can be in the change that is sorely needed in this country. This is a time for empathy, compassion, and real action that will contribute to racial equality in our community and within our own walls. We will stand against injustice and help make our community, and our world, a place where racism is never tolerated or accepted. We pledge our support for racial equity and we encourage you to read more about how we are committing to enhance our efforts.
Guilford native, Gay Butler has been a crucial part of GSB?s team since 2008. She?s worked in both the Loan Servicing Department and the Commercial Credit Team. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, she?s never been so proud to be a GSB employee than when working on the Small Business Administration?s Paycheck Protection Program loans. ?GSB went the extra mile, using resources from all departments and working through the night to make sure small businesses in the community had access to the funds. I look forward to participating in GSB?s future, knowing every decision is made with the customer?s best interest at heart.?
