Valentine's Day at the Atkore Harvey office took on a delightful twist this year as furry bundles of joy made a special appearance, bringing smiles and warmth to employees' hearts. The office buzzed with excitement as puppies were welcomed with open arms, creating a fun atmosphere. From the break room to the cubicles, the presence of the adorable pups brought an undeniable sense of joy and relaxation. Employees from various departments took a break from their busy schedules to experience some puppy love firsthand. Throughout the day, employees had the opportunity to hold, cuddle, and play with the puppies, which, for many, was a welcome respite from their daily routine, offering a moment of pure joy and happiness. As the day drew to a close, employees reluctantly said goodbye to their furry friends, but Valentine's Day at the Atkore Harvey office will be remembered as a day filled with love, laughter, and lots of puppy kisses. It served as a powerful reminder that sometimes all it takes to brighten someone's day is a wagging tail and a wet nose.
This week, our Addison, IL facility hosted a "Juneau Visits Addison" event where Juneau, a local certified therapy dog, visited the office to promote mental health in honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month. Jacob Day, Safety Manager in Addison, organized this event because mental health is an extremely important subject he feels should be destigmatized. "I believe that while it's never an easy discussion to have with someone, it's essential to let people know of available resources to help them and ensure they get the proper care they deserve," said Jacob. "The Addison facility plans events throughout the year focused on mental health awareness, including stand downs (a time when crews stop work and have a discussion or presentation on a subject) and decal distribution. Hard hat decals are always a hit and bring awareness directly to our job sites."
Atkore had the opportunity to participate in the annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) career fair on March 23-24, in Kansas City, MO. It's always great meeting with the future engineers and professionals of the industry!
