These included addressing the nursing shortage, funding for nurse residency programs, improved education pathways and workplace safety. Spotlight on some of our teams giving back to their communities this holiday season! Our Provider Enrollment team collected donations of snacks, personal care items and winter weather accessories, then wrote notes of encouragement to create 10 care kits for unhoused individuals. And our Recognition Council volunteered to pack and distribute food boxes with the Roanoke Rescue Mission. Thank you to both of these teams for the great work and inspiration!
Carilion Hospice of Franklin County showcased the We Honor Veterans program in their float for the Rotary Club of Franklin County's annual Christmas Parade. A special thank you to our volunteers, staff and colleagues for donating candy and helping prepare streamers to hand out to the crowd!
These graduates of our Grow-Our-Own Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Training Program with Virginia Western Community College started their new jobs on our Family Medicine and Orthopaedics teams today! The innovative six-week program is designed for those considering a career in healthcare. Participants are hired as employees and paid while completing classroom education and hands-on clinical training. After completing the program and earning their certification, participants transition seamlessly into their new roles with robust onboarding and clinic-specific training. We're very proud of this cohort for achieving a 100% pass rate and are excited for their futures in healthcare!
Our teams at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital collected, boxed and delivered 74 pounds of aluminum can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia!♻️ Recycling the tabs raises funds that help support the daily operations at the Ronald McDonald House to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Great work everyone and keep saving those tabs!
