Carle Health, a central Illinois-based healthcare system, is proud to welcome the former UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois network along with Trillium Place and Methodist College into its system of care with a focus on improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves. This union will bring an integrated network of three hospitals with 634 beds, more than 850 multi-specialty physicians, 76 clinics, home health and hospice services, a level two trauma center, many advanced specialty services, behavioral health services and a college into the Carle Health team. The closing agreement took effect on April 1st, marking the integration of these two prominent healthcare systems.

This achievement puts Carle in the top 1% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures. Carle also receives the top ranking (#1) in Illinois for Pulmonary Care according to the new analysis. This is the eighth consecutive year (2016-2023) Carle Foundation Hospital is among America’s 50 Best, and one of only two hospitals in Illinois to receive the America’s 50 Best Hospitals Award.

The Best of the Best Awards Gala is celebrating Carle Foundation Hospital for the recent donation to the Champaign Park District. Carle Foundation Hospital continues to support those most in need throughout the community with a donation of $500,000, to benefit the creation of the Martens Center. The Martens Center is a revolutionary facility dedicated to improving the health of residents in Champaign County. Carle proudly serves alongside several community partners helping to ensure all Champaign residents have resources they need to stay well, close to home.

Carle, UnityPoint Health, UnityPoint Health–Central Illinois sign strategic affiliation agreement Carle Health (Carle) is poised to expand access to services, programs and resources and create new innovative opportunities for patients in the Peoria area through a strategic affiliation agreement with UnityPoint Health® – Central Illinois and UnityPoint Health®. With this agreement, Carle Health will replace UnityPoint Health as the parent organization of UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois, which includes Methodist, Proctor and Pekin Hospitals, affiliated clinics, UnityPlace and Methodist College.

Will Tate was just 13 years old when he wished for a rooftop garden at Carle. Inspired by his brave battle with leukemia and in memory of his wish, Will’s Garden transform a 6,000-square-foot rooftop into a tranquil oasis for patients, patient families and staff between the sixth floors of the North Tower and Parkview buildings at Carle Foundation Hospital. Nearly one year ago, construction on Will’s Garden was placed on hold due to the pandemic. This week, construction has resumed! We’re confident Will is smiling as his dream is being realized. This fall, we look forward to celebrating the open of one of the most unique features ever built at Carle Foundation Hospital.
