We were honored to participate in the Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop hosted by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York Colombian Consulate. This public education initiative introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis. Special thanks to our Senior Community Engagement Specialist Mercedes R. Bermejo, for representing EmblemHealth at the event and leading a mindful meditation session with the attendees.
