Recently our Systems Engineer Architect Leadership Program (SEAL) Cohort 12 graduated, and a ceremony was held at our Greensboro, North Carolina, facility, which included directors of engineering and local engineering leadership. SEAL is a 15-month program designed for mid-to senior-level engineering system architect professionals interested in increasing their capabilities to take on complex and strategic initiatives. This 2024 SEAL cohort went through more than 700 hours of formal education; electives execution and training became experts in systems engineering. The cohort was spread across 15 locations, three different General Dynamics business units, three countries and eight time zones. The program offers a master's certificate from the Stevens Institute of Technology, focused elective experiences, networking and training, setting up these leaders for future success for our engineering organization and the General Dynamics Mission Systems business. Join us in giving a big congratulations to SEAL Cohort 12! 👏👏👏
Paris earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Arizona State University. Beyond his impressive academic achievements, this young professional is dedicated to giving back to the community as a math and computer science tutor, mentoring students and fostering confidence in STEM disciplines. Reflecting on his journey, Paris shares the wisdom he wishes would tell himself at his own college graduation. "Maintain the same inquisitive and curious mindset you had in college. Don't be afraid to speak up if you see an opportunity for improvement. Remember, you were hired for a reason—never underestimate your value." In celebration of #EngineeringWeek last week we asked Paris, 'What fuels your passion for engineering?' "Making a difference in the world around me and how it is incredibly fulfilling to know that my work benefits others, no matter the scale of impact. Knowing I can influence the world in a positive way is my favorite part of being in this field. Read more about a day in the life of this FPGA Engineer from Arizona!
