Congratulations Alesha! I am so happy to announce the promotion of Alesha Courtley to Accounting Manager! Alesha has been an invaluable resource, to both operations and support services, since joining Northwest Cascade in 2014. Her natural curiosity to learn more about any topic that comes across her desk has provided her with a fabulous foundation to build on. There’re few aspects of this company that she doesn’t know something about. This knowledge combined with her self-professed “laziness” have been drivers of the many process improvements seen over the last few years. In her new role as Accounting Manager, Alesha will continue to provide great support to all NWC employees, vendors and customers while learning more about other aspects of accounting. I am confident that Alesha will continue to bring a fresh perspective and innovation to the company. Please join me in congratulating Alesha on her new position! We look forward to her continued success and leadership within Northwest Cascade. -Tracey Schwartz

To say it was an interesting summer for Honey Bucket at the Gorge Amphitheater is quite literally an understatement. But one incident we need to let everyone know about is the heroism of Lee Blakeslee. Lee, our “semi-retired” night supervisor (and one of our longest-standing employees), quickly acted when a security guard was attacked by an individual. The incident occurred at 3:15 AM on Memorial Day. Moments after Blakeslee finished a casual conversation with the guard a car sped past through the campgrounds. The guard gave chase and stopped them, but the encounter unexpectedly turned, and the person violently attacked the guard. Witnessing this, Lee immediately stepped in to try and stop it, and he too was attacked, but because of his intervention, the person fled. The attacker was eventually apprehended by the sheriff a short time later. While still on the scene, Lee offered immediate medical assistance to the guard who was seriously hurt, and his act of valor is credited with saving the guard’s life. Blakeslee's swift actions did not go unnoticed. At a recent employee appreciation party, Live Nation (the organization that runs the Gorge) honored him for his bravery, presenting him with a mid-1950s truck that's prominently used as a prop for the Watershed event. A lover of restoring old cars, this gesture was particularly poignant for Blakeslee. This incident serves as a testament to his character and values, reminding us of all the heroes that walk among us.
A hearty congratulations to Jacob Williams on his promotion from Route Supervisor in California to the position of Area Manager in Utah!
